PHOTOGRAPHS: COLOUR IN PLANTS & GARDENS

This blog is about plants and gardens in the South of England, at a point where three counties meet:  Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex.  The countryside includes many areas of outstanding natural beauty, including some of the highest hills, just short of mountain status.
While wild highland and heathland are the
speciality of this area, the local gardens abound in plants and flowers, both common and rare, thanks to the devotion of gardeners, both amateur and professional.  Many of the photographs were taken in Haslemere, Hindhead and Fernhurst, with some further afield towards Winchester.
